Privacy Policy — Options Ledger
Options Ledger is a manual journal for tracking your options trades. This policy describes what information the app handles and what happens to it.
Information stored by the app
Options Ledger stores the journal information you enter, including positions, option transactions, stock holdings, premiums, fees, dates and notes. It also stores preferences, calculated performance summaries, Quill conversations and drafts, and assistant request records that may include prompts, journal context, responses and errors. These records support your journal, calculations and assistant features.
Local storage and security
Your journal and assistant records are stored in the app’s local database on your device. The current database does not have separate app-level encryption; its protection depends on your device and operating system. Sensitive credentials used by supported integrations are stored separately using operating-system secure storage. Protect your device with a passcode and keep its software updated. No storage method can guarantee absolute security.
Quill and Apple Intelligence
When you use Quill, your message, relevant conversation history and journal information can be supplied to Apple’s Foundation Models to answer questions or prepare drafts. On-device mode processes these requests on your device. If an Apple Private Cloud Compute configuration is active in a supported build, request context may be processed by Apple remotely; unavailable cloud requests can fall back to the on-device model. Apple’s processing is subject to its own privacy terms. You can disable Quill in Settings; the toggle saves automatically; disabling it does not delete existing conversations or request records.
Exports and copies outside the app
Exporting creates an unencrypted CSV containing the records included in your export. When you save or share it, the destination app, recipient or cloud storage provider receives that file and handles it under its own terms. Only share it with people and services you trust. Files you previously exported or backed up remain outside the app’s control. Device backups may also contain app data, depending on your operating-system settings.
Advertising and tracking
The current app does not include advertising or third-party advertising trackers, and does not sell your journal information. Performance analytics shown inside the app are calculations based on your journal, not advertising analytics. Operating-system diagnostics and any files you choose to share are governed by the relevant platform or recipient’s policies.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until removed through available app controls or the app’s local data is removed. Deleting a Quill conversation removes that conversation and its associated drafts, but does not erase separate assistant request records or saved journal transactions. There is currently no in-app control to erase all assistant request records. Removing the app’s local data through your device’s controls removes its local database; offloading or archiving an app may retain data. Exported files, device backups and secure-storage credentials may require separate removal through the relevant device or service controls.
Your choices
You can use the journal without Quill, export your records, and delete records using the app’s available controls. Avoid entering information you do not want stored in your journal or assistant history. Manage device backups and copies shared with other services directly with those services.
